LOANS FOR HOUSESSYDNEY, December 9. Advances totalling £10,000,000 to building societies for house erection, were announced by the Premier, during the second reading of the Housing Improvement Bill, in the Assembly. This total of funds now made available by banks, assurance societies, and other financial institutions, might be doubled or even trebled within a few years, added Mr. Stevens. The Government’s housing policy envisaged 100,000 new homes in the next ten years. The Government’s scheme would ensure steady employment for i 80,000 workers in th© building trades. V *
