An unusual and happy ceremony ■was performed by the Governor-Gen- . / eral yesterday, when he administered the accolade of knighthood upon Sir Charles Norwood, who has been a patient at the Bowen Street Hospital>.Wellington, for some weeks. The ■ honour was conferred upon Sir Charles by His Majesty earlier in the year, but illness prevented his attendance at Government House for the ceremony. Lady Norwood and a number ■of personal friends were present; —Press Assn. , - > , The death occurred last night, at,.: the Grey Hospital, of Mrs. Eliza Sarah Gilbertson, a native of Reefton, aged 60 years. Deceased, who had been ailing for some time, was' tile eldest daughter of the late Henry William Lloyd, formerly a hotel-keeper at Reef- j.. ton, and Westport. Her husband,' 1 : James Gilbertson, of Westport, predeceased her some years ago. /Shells survived by one daughter, Mrs. F. Wil-' liams, Paroa. The interment, which will be private, will take place at'Karoro Cemetery, to-morrow afternoon.
