An unusual and happy ceremony ■was performed by the Governor-Gen- . / eral yesterday, when he administered the accolade of knighthood upon Sir Charles Norwood, who has been a patient at the Bowen Street Hospital>.Wellington, for some weeks. The ■ honour was conferred upon Sir Charles by His Majesty earlier in the year, but illness prevented his attendance at Government House for the ceremony. Her husband,' 1 : James Gilbertson, of Westport, predeceased her some years ago. /Shells survived by one daughter, Mrs. F. Wil-' liams, Paroa.
