Allsopp, left, this morning, for Christchurch. Miss F. Dowling will leave to-mor-row, for Wellington, en route to Tahiti, on a holiday visit. Mr B. Riley, who has for 21 years been in charge of building work for the Canterbury Education Board in Mid-Canterbury and North Canterbury, has been appointed senior inspector for the Government housing scheme in the South Island. A fortune of £1,134,866 was left by Sir Albert Levy, who died at the beginning of the month. He was the founder of the Ardath Tobacco Company, and of the £250 Million Sterling Benevolent Fund, which bears his name. Estate duty of £437,815 will be payable.—Official Wireless. Mr L. E. Gielgud, Under-Secretary of the League of Red Cross Societies, Paris, will arrive on Monday, accompanied by Mrs Gielgud, on a short visit to Greymouth. He will also be accompanied by Mrs T. H. Lowry, 0.8. E.. Hawke’s Bay, President of the New Zealand Red Cross Society, and Dr. Alexander Gillies, President of the Wellington Centre.,
