’FRISCO WATERFRONT

TEAMSTERS’ EMBARGO LIFTED [nv CABLE —PRESS ASSX. —COPYRIGHT.] SAN FRANCISCO, September 30. The teamsters’ union has lifted the embargo imposed on waterfront cargoes. The men withdrew their pickets and announced that they would resume the handling of cargo, thus giving the longshoremen’s leader, Mr. Harry Bridges, at least a temporary victory. The secretary of the union said the decision was caused by a desire not to harm perishable cargoes, but it is significant that it immediately follows the lodgment of affidavits on behalf of the Committee for Industrial Organisation accusing nine officials of the American Federation of Labour of terrorising the waterfronts.
