FILM ACTRESS AS JUDGE

LONDON, August 2

Considerable interest was aroused at Ferring, Sussex, to-day, by a competition for the “most beautiful man.” judged by a woman. Well over 1,000 spectators watched as Miss Shirley Grey, the film actress, made her choice from about 50 competitors. Mr. Arthur Margetson, Miss Grey’s husband, entered the competition with a. makeup, but was sson sen t out as “not even in the running.” Miss Grey finally chose Mr. A. L. Cresswell, of Rose-walk, Goring, as the winner, with a 65-year-old Frenchman, Mr. F. Lepage, of Oxted, Surrey, as second. Miss Grey said tn me afterwards: “I never knew before* that, men considered themselves beautiful. It is amazing the amount of interest this competition has caused.”
