GREY LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP
WON BY MISS TENNENT
The final of the C.reyinouth ladies' senior championship was played at Kaiata links on Saturday, Miss N. TennenL retaining the title, by defeating Airs. W. G. McKay, two up after a close game. Though the weather was showery, the links were in good order. .Miss Toiinent won the Ist and 2nd holes. Mrs. McKay squaring at (he 4th, and. winning the sth and ill h made her Iwo up. The seven!h was halved in lives. Miss Tennent won tile Sill ill 5 'to 6. The 9111 WUS halved in 3’s making Mrs. McKay one up al the turn. Al tin? Huh. Miss Tennent had a 5 to Mrs. .McKay's 6. Indifferent putting al the 11th by Mrs. McKay gave .Miss Tennent a win in 4 to 5. making her one up. Miss Tennent also was superior at the 12th—two up. At the 13th, Mrs. McKay’s tee shot was nicely on the green, giving her a win in 3 to 4. Miss Tenneni. one up. The 1.-lth was won by Miss Tennent 5 to 6, making her two up. Halves at the 15th and 16th left Miss Tennent dormie two. At the 17t.h Miss Tennent's drive was too low, caught the bank and dropped down, Airs. .McKay's drive being a good length. Aliss Tennent’s second was a good shot, while Airs. .McKay’s second hit the tree, and dropped beside it. Both had indifferent thirds, but Airs. AicKay was well on in 4 to 6. She won the hole in 11, leaving Aliss Tennent dormie one. At the 18th. Aliss Tennent. drove a beautiful ball and also an excellent, second. Airs. .McKay’s drive enough of good length, found the rough at the right and she hit her 2nd .still in the rough. Miss Tennent was through the green in -I to Airs. As if Io show that he was not greatly affected by the loss, Mr. Wart yesterday borrowed a set from a
younger brother and played at Richmond Hill. Though it was his first round on the course for a considerable time he finished in 66, the bogey figures of the course, which have seldom been equalled.
