PEARLER SUNK

A Japanese pearling lugger, loaded with 300 tons of pearl shell, valued at £42,000, foundered off the North Australian coast in 15 fathoms of water after being struck by a severe, squall. The purser and a diver were drowned. Twenty others took to the lifeboats and wore picked up by a smaller lugger. The sunken vessel is believed to be the mother-sltfp, Sanyo Marti, which was recently constructed.
