NOVEL RENTAL PAID. [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. COPYRIGHT.] (Received July 9, 11 a.m.) LONDON, July 8. There was picturesque traditional ceremony at Holyrood House, when the Laird of Craufurd and Mr. J. H. Houison-Crauford presented the King with a basin of “fair water” as rent for lands granted to their ancestor by James the Fifth. Tho Queen made her first public speech, acknowledging the conferment of the honorary Doctorate of Laws of tho Edinburgh University.
