MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB. Members of the Grey Ladies’ Miniature Rifle Club met at the club’s range last, evening to determine the first shoot for Griffen and Smith’s trophy. Mrs L. Hughes and Miss Gray tied for the Hotty Button with a score of 65, but in the shoot-off Mrs Hughes was the winner. The second competition' was finalised last week. Mrs Manning was the winner of Boucher’s trophy. Miss Neubauer was runner-up. The following were the scores:—

WHIPPET MEETING The Cobden Grey Whippet Club are holding a monster trophy meeting at the Cobden Domain on Sunday, the chief event being the Buchanan Cup. in which all the best dogs of the Coast will he. competing, off scratch. A great race should result. The other events have filled well and a good afternoon’s sport is assured. AMERICA’S CCP. NEWPORT, June 23. The Ranger won the seventh trial race to select the defender of America’s Cup, defeating the Yankee by 5A minutes over 27.7 miles. It is considered virtually certain the Ranger will defend the cup. BOWLING. BRISBANE. June 21. The New Zealand bowlers played East. Brisbane to-day. Dee won, 27-11. Chapman lost. 15-21. Russell won 2516. Kempster lost 21-18.
