LEAGUE FOOTBALL
INANGAHUA SUB-CENTRE. Mr C. Coxall presided at the weekly meeting of the Inangahua Rugby League Sub-Centre. Mr Earl, manager of the representative team, presented his report, and was accorded a vote of thanks. The team was congratulated on its win. The secretary reported that arrangements for the excursion to Christchurch were well in hand. , It. was decided to write to the Waiuta Club, stating that Mr F. Thorn had offered his services as referee, and had been approved by the SubCentre.
The secretary was instructed to write to the West Coast Centre regarding the playing of the junior representative match at Greymouth as a curtain-raiser to the CanterburyWest Coast match, and offer to pay 50 per cent, of the expenses. The junior selectors are to be advised to submit a team to the Sub-Centre at its meeting on July 6, and are to be instructed that the team is not to be made public until it has been dealt with by the Sub-Centre. It wa.s decided to write to the West Coast Centre asking that, if possible, steps should be taken to have a North Island team visit the Coast this season, and that Wellington be invited.
Members stated that the time was ripe to send the Inangahua team on a visit to another Centre, and it was resolved that the secretary write to, the. Welling. >garding the I possibility m ... . o ..niia paying them visit. ' EXCURSION TO CHRISTCHURCH. I To-morrow evening and Saturday morning excursion trains will leave the West Coast tor Christchurch. The first train will leave Inangahua Junction at. 1Q.45 p.nt. on Friday evening and Reefton at 11.53 p.nt. This train will pick tip all passengers on the line to Stillwater. The second train will leave Greyniouth at 1.15 a.tn. on Saturday morning and will take passengers from Greyinouth and stations to Stiilwater. The trains will arrive in Christi-hitich at 7.12 a.m. and 7.52 a.nt. on. Saturday. The return train for Reefton will leave Christchurch at 9 a.in. on Sunday and for Greymouth at ltt.s a.m. These excursions are popular with the public, and a large crowd is expected. A number of Rugby League teams will make the trij) as well as basketball teams. Only a limited number of tickets are available, and reserved seats may be obtained at all railway station-'..
