WANGANUI, June 23.

An inquest is being held concerning the death of John Oscar Bovey, who died on’ April 23, following burns received at Kempthorne Prosser’s fertilizer works, Aramoho, during a sulphur fire. The evidence indicates that the fire started in the elevator room. A belt had come off and the men were engaged in replacing it when they apparently released their hold, causing it to slip back. One witness stated that he saw a spark, and immediately the place was enveloped in smoke and flame and sulphur fumes, i here was a good deal of fine sulphur dust at the time.

WELLINGTON, June 23

Pleading guilty to the theft of £6 5/- in money, and making out a false receipt for £B/5/-, Victor John Peddie, 29, motor-driver, was committed for sentence.

Michael Dominic O’Rourke, 25, taxidriver, was committed for sentence on a charge of carnal knowledge of a girl aged 15, and Lionel Hart Warren, 52, labourer, on a charge of incest. Coroner Gilbertson to-day found, after the inquest, that the death of Ronald John Buck, 21, machinist at the Prestige Hosiery Mills, was due •to blood-poisoning, following a wound’ in the hand. Deceased, it appeared from the evidence, told a fellowworker that some oil used in the factory had got into a cut. HOLLYWOOD, June 22. John and Elain© Barrymore have been reconciled. .The interlocutory decree granted on April 23, will be dismissed, and the pair will remarry.
