WRECKED SCHOONER
NIAGARA TAKES CREW

APIA. June 21. The Union Company’s liner Niagara arrived at Hull. Island at 7 ,a.m. today and picked up the captain and crew of the wrecked schooner Makoa. The overseer, and also the laboui’ gang and carpenters, who had shipped by the Makoa for the Burns, Philp plantation, are remaining on the island as all the cargo had been safely landed. It is learned that the vessel was wrecked on May 25. MACDHUI IN PORT SYDNEY, June 22. The Burns, Philp steamer Neptuna, with the MacDhui in tow, arrived at Salamaua this morning. The fire on the MacDhui is believed to have been subdued. A survey of the vessel will be carried out immediately.
