[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT, j A fair number of householders attended the annual meeting held in tne school-room last evening. Mr. N. Hayes was voted to the chair. In reading the annual report (previously published), the chairman paid a tribute to the work of the members of the committee uuring the year. A short discussion took piace on the report, the chairman intimating that in all probability a new detached classroom would be built to accommodate the overflow from the infant room, the roll in this department being 86. The Headmaster, in reply to a question, explained to the meeting the efforts that ha*d been made to provide milk for the children. He stated that the Milk Committee were watching the position and a further effort would be made in the Spring to secure a supply. The Committee’s secretary, Mr. P. Higgins, read the balance sheet.- In reply to a question, he stated that the amount received a-om the Home and School Association for the year was £27/15/1. Aftei J further discussion, the balance sheet was adopted.

Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames McDonald, G. Williams. Mr. S. Alderson, and Rev. E. W. Marks. A vote of thanks was accorded the Committee for their work during the year. Subsequently the school committee met; present: Messrs. N. Hayes (chairman), P. Higgins (secretary), E. Cressey, and G. Williams. It was decided to telegraph to Mr. A. H. McKane to interview the Minister of Education in connection with the new class-room. Accounts amounting to £6/3/4 were passed for payment.

The Headmaster’s report was received. The attendance for the month had been good, reaching 92 per cent, of the roll number. Several small requirements were left to the chairman and secretary.
