A complete settlement in the dispute between the Merchant Service Guild and the Coastal Shipping Companies was reached in the Conciliation Council to-day, before Mr Reardon. The minimum wages were agreed upon on a monthly basis: For vessels between GOl and 1000 tons, master £43/10/-, Chief Officer £27 10/-; Second £23/10/-; Third £22. Vessels from 101 to GOO tons: Master £4l/10/-; Chief Officer £26/10/-; Second £22/1/9; Third £22. Northern Industrial District: 25 to 100 tons: Master £4O/9/6; Chief Officer £26/10/-; Second £22/10/-. 101 to 250 tons: Master £39/6/6; Chief Officer £26/10/-; Second £22/10/-. 51 to 100 tons: Master £34/15/6. 30 to 50 tons: Master £3O/10/-. Scows over 51 tons: Master £47. Scows from 30 to 50: Master £25. Overtime 3/9 hourly after eight hours. Three weeks’ annual holiday.
