PIGS IN CEMETERY
HIGH FINE IMPOSED. [pee press association.] WHANGAREI, June 21. For allowing pigs to wander in Hukerenui South cemetery, T. J. A. Hutchins was fined a total of £2l at the Police Court. All the parties, including the Magistrate, agreed that the fine was high, but it was the minimum allowed under the relevant section of the Cemeteries Act, which stipulates a. fine of not less than £1 for each animal. Fifteen of the pigs were suckers.
