CORONATION OAK GROVE

PLANTED AT WINDSOR. [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] LONDON, June 19. ’ An unprecedented ceremony at which all parts of the Empire were represented was the planting of a Coronation oak grove of 60 trees in Windsor Great Park .opposite the Royal Lodge, the country home of the King and Queen. Each tree was planted in a position corresponding to the geographical location of the portion of the Empire represented in its relation to Britain. The King and Queen and the little Princesses shook hands with the Empire representatives. Then the King shovelled some earth round the first tree. The Home Secretary (Sir Samuel Hoare) planted the United Kingdom tree, Mr. Savage, the New Zealand tree, and Mr. S. M. Bruce, the Australian tree. Their Majesties later entertained the British representatives at tea. ALDERSHOT TATTOO.

LONDON, June 20.

The King in a Field Marshal’s uniform and the Queen attended an Aidershot Tattoo, where they were cheered tumultously by 77,000 spectators. The King took the salute.
