Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Biarton left liis morning, on return to Dunedin.

Miss K. Sampson left, this morning, on a holiday visit .to Sydney.

Mr. J. Bain was a passenger by this morning’s express to Christchurch.

A Vienna cablegram stated that .the Duke and Duchess of Windsor left Wasserleonburg, on a three days’ tour. The destination was not disclosed.

A London cablegram stated that the Duke and Duchess of Kent are going to the Continent at the end of July or the first week in August. Reports that they will meet the Duke of Windsor are without foundation.

Mr D. Jarvis, of the staff of Sargood Son and "Ewen, Greymouth, who will leave to-morrow on transfer to Christchulrch, was farewelled on Saturday evening, by the West Coast Cricket Association, United Cricket. Club, members of Greymouth drapery and mercery firms, and the Trinity Badminton Club, and presented with a Rolls razor. Messrs J. Mathews (Cricket Association), G. Howes .'(United Cricket Club), A. Harrison (mercers), and P. Allen all spoke in eulogistic terms of the guest’s good qualities, and his ability as a sportsman.

The death occurred at Greymouth this afternoon, of Henry Hoffman, a native of Hokitika, aged 60 years. Deceased had resided in Greymouth for a lengthy period, being employed as a. stonemason for the firm of W. Sampson for the past twenty-seven years. Ho served in the Great War and was wounded, while one brother, William, was killed in action. He is survived by two brothers, Jack (North Island), and Robert (Hokitika), and two sisters, Mrs J. Daly (Wellington), and Mrs H. M. O’Grady (Buccleugh Street); also two step-brothers, Mr Julius Schultz (Wellington) and Mr Herman Schultz (Hokitika).
