COAL TRADE
GREY MINES EXPORT. According to figures supplied by the Railways’ Department, the export of coal from the port of Greymouth during the four weekly period' ended May 29 last was 1,479 tons in excess of that for the corresponding period of last year, the respective totals being 19,545 tons and 18,066 tons. The exports from the various district mines, for the period were as follow: — 1937 1936
Other Mines .. 2,554 2,168 During the same four-weekly period an increase was also shown in the export of timber, the total being 2,260,488 superficial feet, as compared with 1,392,202 feet in the corresponding period last year, an increase of 868,286 feet. . ....
