BASKETBALL
YANKEE TOURNAMENT The King’s Birthday is the “big day” of the season, and only fine weather is required to make this year’s Yankee Tournament the biggest event in the history of Greymouth basketball. In the morning, schools' grade games will be played at the Columba courts, while B grade games will be decided at the Convent and at McGinley Park. The afternoon should provide some'' thrilling and exciting games, the programme including the lower grade finals as well as all the A grade games. An added attraction will be the visit of a Christchurch team, Orama, which will play Technical Old Girls’ B at 12.45 p.m. Immediately aftpr this game, the players of all teanrfwill assemble and take part in a march, the music for which will be supplied by the Municipal Band.
