General Inference: An anti-cyclone, with its centre to the east, covers New Zealand, and pressure is high also across the north Tasman Sea. A shallow westerly depression is advancing across the south Tasman. Forecast: Light to moderate northerly winds prevailing, and freshening gradually. Weather fair and mild at first, but clouding over and later rain developing. Seas slight to moderate.
