S.A. PREMIER

ATTEMPT AT “DOPING.”

ADELAIDE, May 16.

Writing' home from London, the Premier (Mr. Butler) said that after purchasing some clothes at a. shop in Aden he went into a hack room to try on a dressing gown. On returning to the outer shop he discovered that one of his hands was covered with blood. He. says he is confident that he had not knocked it, and had not felt anything', but he had two distinct punctures on his hand, which made him suspicious than an attempt had been made to “dope” him. It happened that he had a lot of money with him. Luckily he bled freely, and was created by the ship’s doctor.
