N.Z. COUNCIL PROPOSALS [PEE PBESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, April 30. The executive committee of the New Zealand Olympic Association has approved of the following recommendations after a survey of its available income: — That athletes be entered in all divisions, and Australia be advised of this by May 31, as requested. That national organisations be requested to advise the Olympic Association before October 15 for which particular events they would be nominating competitors. That national associations be requested to forward all individual and team nominations on or before December 17, as entries must reach Sydney by December 31, 1937, and that although alterations may be made up to the middle of January, it was highly desirable that the Olympic Association should, as far as possible, be in a position to send entries to Australia by December 31. That the New Zealand Olympic Association would pay the expenses of a manager and a chaperon, but that the entries indicated that two managers might be required. That national associations be notified that they would have to make their own arrangements for trainers and masseurs if these -were required, also that they might nominate submanagers of their teams if they wished, but in this case the national associations would have to find all the expenses of the trainer, the masseur, and the sub-manager.

That in view of the team being much larger than was anticipated, national associations be advised that they would probably have to find the sum of £2O for each competitor in addition to the expenses of a trainer, masseur, and sub-manager, and that national associations advise the Olympic Association on or before June 30 whether they would assist to this extent.

That the Olympic Association provide the balance of the money required, estimated at £BOO. That all competitors be supplied with the necessary uniform, but that they would have to find their own out-of-pocket expenses (estimated at £5). Assembly, transport, billeting, and disbanding expenses would also be found. It was considered that it would be no hardship for competitors to find the comparatively small sum of £5 for out-of-pocket expenses, considering they would be participating in so enjoyable and historic a trip, particularly’as they have some nine months’ notice to do so.
