NEW CANAL OPENED [by CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] MOSCOW, April 30. The first ship has traversed the new Moscow-Volga canal. The canal took four years to cut and it links up the Baltic and White. Seas with the Caspian and ■ Black ;Seab and the Sea of Azov. The canal, it is reported, also quadruples Moscow’s water-supply. MR. NASH’S BROADCAST • LONDON, April 30. The New Zealand Minister for Finance and Marketing (Mr. W. Nash) will broadcast from Moscow at midnight to-night, local time. . •
