REEFTON, April 28

Mrs Austin, President, occupied the chair at the monthly meeting of the Reefton Women’s Institute. There was a good attendance, and five new members were enrolled. Mrs Sharpe reported on her attendance at the conference of the West Coast Federation of Institutes, and was; accorded thanks for her report. In a competition for the best plate of scones Mrs Duff was first, Miss Burns second, 'and Mrs Yollowlees third. The roll call for the afternoon, “A cure for the Blues” caused amusement, and brought novel ideas. Mrs Duff was thanked for a demonstration of hairpin work. A social half hour was spent to which Mesdames Seaton, Sharpe and Williams supplied items. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Cooper, Yellowlees l and Miss Garth.
