PALMERSTON NORTH, April IS. The Australian amateur wrestling team appeared in a series of matches at. the Opera House on Saturday night, winning seven of eight bouts. There was little action in the wrestling, the visitors being content to gain points decisions. Results (Australian names first): — Parsons lost, to E. Anthony (Palmerston North); Purcell beat Bradley (Wellington); Purchase beat Eckersley (Palmerston North); Hurley beat Russell (Wjiirarapa ); Sinclair beat Morley (Wairarapa); Vickers beat Stewart (Hawke’s Bay); Gardiner beat Wright (Wellington); Knight beat Tatere (Dannevirke). MATCH FOR GREYMOUTH. The West Coast will have its first wrestling contest of the new season, in. the Greymouth Town Hall, next Saturday night. Don Mclntyre, of Missouri, and Tom Mead, of California, having been matched by the Greymouth Boxing and Wrestling Association.
