NAVAL ARMAMENTS
FIRST LORD’S REGRET.

LONDON, April 16.
“As Minister responsible for one of the navies of the world, I should be lacking in my duty if I did not ask other Naval Powers to think once again of the almost intolerable burden on all our shoulders due to the absence of building restriction, declared the First Lord of the Admiralty (Sir Samuel Hoare) at a dinner given by representatives; of shipbuilding firms which are engaged in naval construction. ~ The , First Lord urged the need or the avoidance of suicidal competition.
