Waimea is to sail to-night with coal for Picton.

Rata is to sail to-night. with coal, timber and posts, for Gisborne. Kaimiro is loading coal for Auckland and Portland, and is scheduled to sail on Tuesday. Hokitika is to leave Wellington today, with general cargo for Greymouth anil Hokitika, via Tarakohe, and is due here on Tuesday 'morning. Kauri is due on Thursday, from Wellington, to load timber for Melbourne and Adelaide.

Kalingo is due on Friday from Wa nganui, with Australian cargo, and after discharge, will load coal foi’ Wei lington.

Karn is due on Friday from Wellington, to load timber for Petone, Wellington and Miramar. James Cook is due on Saturday next, to load timber for Sydney. TRANSPACIFIC FARES. SAN FRANCISCO, April 15. The Associated Press learns that discussions at the proposed shipping conference on April 19 are expected to result in an increase in transpacific fares. It is expected these will include an increase of from 10 to 15 per cent, on the Matson service between Australia, and New Zealand. OTHER PORTS. WELLINGTON, April 17. Arrived, at 5 a,m„ Karn, from Greymouth. SYDNEY, April 17. Arrived at Newcastle, Kaikorai from Wellington.—Sailed, Port Caroline for New Zealand.
