EXHIBITIONS AT GREYMOUTH. The exhibitions of table tennis given in the Oddfellows’ Hall last eveningby Messrs. C. Burke and K. Longmore, j two of Wellington’s leading players, who are touring the South Island, drewj an attendance of over sixty spectators. | The singles exhibition. although] Burke won all games, proved interesting, both displaying excellent technique. Burke’s play was the more accurate, but Longmore showed a. fine defence, frequently returning shots from over ten feet behind the table. The scores were:—2l/17, 21/15, 21/17, 21/18. 21/11. In an exhibition doubles game. Burke and W. Grady (Greymouth) defeated Longmore and J. Gagliardi (Greymouth) 31/22. In a return match, a. Greymouth team defeated Reefton by 14 games to 6. The- detailed results, with the! Reefton players mentioned first in each case, were: — G. August lost to B. Tindalo 14/31; lost to M. Marshall 20/31; Lost to T. McDonnell 14/31; lost to H. Greenwood 23/31. W. Blom lost to Tindale 20/31; defeated Greenwood 31/27; defeated Marshall 34/32; deefated McDonnell 31/23. C. Coxall lost to Tindale 15/31; defected Greenwood 31/25; lost to Mc-j Donnell 26/31; defeated Marshall! 31/25. D. Bateman lost to Tindale 18/31 ;-| defeated Greenwood 32/30; lost to Marshall 22/31; lost, to McDonnell] 17/31. I Coxall and Blom lost to Tindale and j Greenwood 28/31; lost to Marshall and McDonnell 23/31. August and Blom lost to Marshall and McDonnell 14/31; lost to Tindale and Greenwood 21/31. , The cup was handed to .the winning team by Mr. Grady. Subsequently, a meeting was held to consider the formation of a West Coast 'Cable Tennis Association, Mr. W. Grady presiding. 'I ho Chairman stated that there was growing interest, in the game, and i.ho clubs I'ormed, or being formed. on the West. Coast included four in Greymouth, and others in Reefton. r.,,,Hokitika and other cent)' necessary to have some form of organisation, so that, competitions, with uniform rules, could be commenced. .Messrs. Burke and Longmore stated that an association would have the support. and assistance of the New Zealano Association. 11. was decided to form an Association, and officers were elected as follow : —President.
