HIGHER RANGE OE PRICES. [l’EfC PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NAPIER, April 8. All expectations for the final wool sale of the Napier series held to-day were more than realised. There was a ravenous demand for all lines, and the sale was marked by the keenest competition from all quarters. The catalogue was almost completely cleared at prices easily, the highest of the season, showing an advance even on the latest quotations at the Wellington sale. This was despite the fact that the quality of the wool offering to-day was not so high. All types of wool, coarse crossbreds, fine fieece wools, cotted lines, pieces and bellies shared in the enquiry. Several clips averaged more than 18d per lb, and vendors were jubilant. It is 13 years since the price of w'ool was so high. Bids of 19Jd were almost monotonously frequent, while very few lots, whatever their quality, went below double figures. A complete clearance gave a good indication of the trend of the sale, prices generally being a full 3d to Id above which -were based on Febluary levels. The official range of
