ALSATIAN DOGS
I ABOLITION IN VICTORIA. I [by CABLE —PRESS ASSN. COPYRIGHT.] ! MELBOURNE, March 15. The Victorian Government is aiming at the abolition of Alsatian dogs. It has fixed their registration fee at £2/15/- for each dog annually, with a heavy fine for possessing any unregistered Alsatians. The owners, rather than pay the heavy registration are permitting the authorities to destroy the dogs in a. lethal chamber. The number so destroyed in a few. weeks has been 1,250. It is expected hund.ieds more will be destroyed by the end of the week.
