[PJCB PBESB ASSOCIATION.] NAPIER HOSPITAL DISPUTE. NAPIER, March 15. After a lengthy discussion on the requested resignation of Dr. J. Allan Berry, a member of the Board, the Hawke’s Bay lipspital Board decided to invite the Minister of Health (Hon. P. Fraser) to hold a Ministerial or public inquiry into the affairs of the Board. During the discussion. Dr. Berry was censured for remarks he addressed to the chairman. ■ STOLEN SAFE LOCATED. WHAKATANE, March 15. A sequel to a. burglary at G. Merric.’s butcher’s shop at Taneatua on the night of March 6, 1936, when a. safe containing £3O in notes and cheques, and the business books, was stolen, was the finding of the safe in the Weioho Creek yesterday. The bottom: and inner compartment of the safe had been cut open, and the contents were missing. While droving cattle, K. Magee, in endeavouring to head off a. beast which broke away to the creek, saw the safe in the water, and repotted his find to the police. TRAMWAY REGULATIONS. WELLINGTON, Match 15. The Minister for Public. Works and for Transport (Hon. R. Semple) has decided to convene a conference of tramway authorities and employees to review the regulations governing tramways. The conference will be held at Wellington, commencing on April 2. invitations to attend .the conference are in transit, and it, is hoped that every tramway authority and union of tramway employees will send a deleocltG. 4 ” A revision of the regulations was almost completed in 1924, after a series of conferences, but the work was finally abandoned. It is proposed to use the draft then prepared as a basis for discussion at the conference now being convened. An official statement will be issued soon concerning the problems to be discussed by fhe projected conference. AUSTRALIAN PROSPERITY. DUNEDIN, March 16. Prosperity, reflected in the healthy condition.of the secondary industries, is noticeable on every hand, according to Mr J. Bush and Captain White Parsons, passengers by the Marama. The former is a, Melbourne company director, and the latter is the Napier Harbourmaster. Captain White Parsons has obtained a fund of information about shipping and harbour methods in Australia, which will be applied, in the construction |of Napifjr’s new harbour. He stated' that there was no sign of depression in the shipping world in Australia. The Commonwealth was flourishing, and the people were contented. Mr Bush stated that unemployment had been reduced by 20 per cent. The passengers saw Milford Sound in perfect weather, being delighted by its beauty.
