TO VISIT WESTLAND

MINISTER OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS

Mr. James O’Brien, M.P., has been advised that Hon. W. E. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs, and Minister in Charge of Pensions, Museum and Advertising Departments, will visit the Westland electorate from Friday, March 19 to Monday, March, 22 and will transact public business and receive deputations relative to matters concerning his Departments. Owing to the absence of Mr. O’Brien, who will be in the North Island, Hon. James Goodall, M.L.C.. will replace him whilst the Minister is in the Westland electorate, and will introduce deputations. TOUR IN OTAGO DUNEDIN, March 12. The Minister for Internal Affairs (Hon. W. E. Parry) is at present visiting Otago in continuation of his tour in the interests of local body reform. Yesterday he placed before representatives of the Bruce, Clutha, and Tuapeka County Councils a plan for the amalgamation of these three counties, based on the administration of the Hawke’s Bay and Southland Counties, two of the largest counties in the Dominion. The Minister spent the night in Dunedin, and will leave for Oamaru this morning.
