RUGBY, March 2.

A long list, of appointments to the King’s Household is gazetted. Among the principal are the following:—

-Lord Chamberlain, the Earl of Cromer. Lord Steward, the Duke of Buccleugh and Queensberry. Master of the Horse, the Duke of Beaufort. Treasurer of the Household, Sir George Penny.

Comptroller of the Household, Sir Lambert Ward. Vice-Chamberlain of the Household, Sir George Davies. Private secretary. Major Alexander Hardinge. Assistant private secretaries. Mr. F. H. Mitchell, Mr. A. F. Lascelles, and Sir Eric Melville.

Keeper of the King’s Archiveis, Lord Wigram./

Keeper of the Privy purse. Major Ulick Alexander. Financial secretary to the Kinjg, Mr. F. P. Robinson.

High Almoner, the Archbishop of Canterbury (the Most Rev. Dr. Cosmo Gordon Lang).

Prebendary Archville is appointed Precentor of the Chapels Royal. Under the heading of the Medacai Household, there are 35 appointmemts headed by Lord Dawson of Penn, Lord Hordcr, Sir John Weir, and Sir Maurice Cassidy.

stable and Governor of Windsor Castle. Mr. John Masefield continues to be Poet Laureate.

The appointments include those of the Australian, Sir Thomas Dunhill, as surgeon, and the New Zealand Olympic athlete, Dr. Arthur Porritt, as surgeon to the Household.
