MURDER CHARGE

YOUNG MAORI REMANDED [per press association.] AUCKLAND, March 1. The Maori farm labourer, John Toka, 21, who was arrested on February 21 on a charge of murdering Toka Whakaia, 70, at Patumamoe, appeared in the Police Court, on remand, this morning. The police asked for a further remand, until Monday. “Will the police be ready to proceed then?" asked Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M. “I don't think so.” replied DetectiveSergeant McHugh. Toka was remanded until Monday next.
