DUBLIN-CROYDON RECORD

RUGBY, February 20.
An air liner piloted by Captain J., E. Stoney, a pilot of Irish Airways, Ltd completed a .flight from Dublin to. Croydon in 1 hour 25 minutes. The machine carried three .passengers, and the flight, at a rate of about 226 miles; an hour, is considered to be a record, for such a passenger-carrying air liner.
.MISSING LINER.
SYDNEY, February 22.
Ten aeroplanes continued the search to-day for the missing Stinson airliner, without result. The Minister for Defence (Sir Archdale Parkhill) stated that insistence on the provision of wireless outfits on passenger aeroplanes was now being considered. A decision was likely this week.' He added that tests of the Germain Lorenz blind flying radion beam system were also nearly complete. GERMAN ’PLANE. LONDON, February 22. The Associated Press Berlin correspondent reports that the Junkers J .U. 86 aeroplane (which is to visit Australia) has been christened Lawrence Hargrave, as a tribute to Australia’s pioneer aviator. The crew includes Chief Pilot Englebert and Flight Captain Kommol.
ROUND-BRITAIN TEST
LONDON, February 22
The Cambria, the latest of the Imperial Airways flying boats, made a noteworthy round-Britain non-stop flight from Southampton, 1350 miles in 522 minutes, averaging 155 miles an hour. It had sufficient petrol left for a further four hours’ flying.
