The wide appeal of the British Industries Fair is shown by the fact that the orders booked so far come from 65 different countries. France alone is represented by 219 buyers, and large numbers are attending from Holland, Germany, Belgium, and the Scandinavian countries. The Dominions are also well represented. DUEL CHALLENGE. BUDAPEST. February 22. The Socialist leader, M. Karl Peyer, replying toa challenge to-fight a duel, said: “I am a Christian and I there-, fore oppose duelling. If I must fight I demand that I may use artillery, because it is the only weapon of which I know anything.” ■ INDIAN ELECTIONS. LONDON, February 21. The Delhi correspondent of “The Times” states that the final state of the parties in the United Provinces Assembly is: Congress 133, others 95 (of whom 56 are Moslems). Provincial Congress party leaders, including Jawahar Lal Nehru, are meeting to consider the acceptance of Ministerial offices. It is understood that the majority are in favour of acceptance. PARAGUAY AND LEAGUE. GENEVA, February 21. The League of Nations will tell Paraguay that she cannot terminate her membership until, she pays £20,000 in arrears dating from 1920. MARY ASTOR MARRIED. NEW YORK, February 18. A message from Yuma states that Mary Astor, film actress, and Manuel del Campo, a Mexican insurance salesman, flew there in a chartered plane,, and were married before dawn. They gave their ages respectively as thirty years and twenty-five.
