TABLE BAY HARBOUR

GOVERNMENT EXPENDITURE. [BY CABLE —PBESB ASSN. —COPYBIGHT.j CAPE TOWN, February 21. The Government has decided to develop Table Bay harbour immediately, spending £2,250,000 in four years, to ensure that it shall be one of the finest artificial harbours in the world, capable of accommodating ships of any size. A big graving dock will also bo built.

The scheme was dismissed during the visit to London of Mr O. Pirow (South African Minister for Harbours) last year, when the contingency of the Cape becoming an alternative route to the Mediteranean was considered.
