FOREIGN TROOPS IN SPAIN
UNDERGRADS’ PROTEST. [By CABLE —PBESS ASSN. —COPYBIGHT.] J. (Recd. February 20, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, February 19. One hundred ' Cambridge undergraduates, including ten women, hurried from, lecture prooms arid laboratories to invade the lobbies of the Commons. Every college and all political opinions were represented. They declared: We are disgusted at the attitude, of the Government toward Spain. We have the right to protest because our lives and future, are at stake. We refuse to fight in a hideous new type of war, in which rebellion is secretly financed from outside, and demand the withdrawal of all foreign troops, including Moors from Spain. Most members of the Commons seemed too busy to see the undergraduates. Finally, Earl Winterton came out and said: You can thank your lucky stars, my children, you are British. All we have to do is keep out. Oxford and London undergraduates are preparing similar demonstrations. CEUTA BOMBED. GIBRALTAR, February 19.
