BARRYMORE AND BRIDE

HOLLYWOOD, January 5.
John Barrymore has filed a revocation of the power of attorney given to his bride, Miss Barrie, following on a quarrel. The quarrel is reported to have started at a New Year’s Eve party, and to be due to her desire to make a stage appearance against his wishes. Barrie disclosed that he is living apart from her since then. She expressed the belief that it would be only a temporary estrangement, adding, “but our tiffs can't be conducted with privacy like those of other couples.” FATAL DESPONDENCY HOLLYWOOD, January 4. Ross Alexander, a cinema actor, in a fit of despondency, committed suicide. His first wife, named Friele as cabled on December 7, 1935, committed suicide by shooting, in a barn on their estate. His present wife, Anna Nagle, also a cinema star is hysterical and is in care of a physician.
