WEDDING
O’REGAN—WISE.
The wedding was solemnised, this morning, at St. Patrick’s Church, Greymouth, of Beryl, youngest daughter of Mrs. Wise and the late Mr. C.-Wise, Greymouth, and James Desmond, son of Mr. John O’Regan, Inangahua Junction. Rev. Father McKeon* performed the ceremony and also celebrated Nuptial Mass. Miss Moira McSherry was at the organ and djiring the ceremony Miss E. Lord sang “Ave Verum” and Mr. T. Hatch sang “Ave Maria.” The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Mr. L. Wise, was attired in a magnolia satin gown, cut on slimming lines, rucked to form a sunray bodice, and trimmed at the neck with selfmade flowers. The long bishop sleeves were shirred to fit the wrists. The long rucked train was attached to the hips with small buttons and was trimmed with self-made flowers, and over it fell her embroidered veil, held in place with a circlet of orange blossom buds. She carried a sheaf of Christmas lilies and maidenhair fern.
She was attended by Miss Ella Robertson and Miss Minnie Weenink, who were similarly attired in dawn pink satin frocks, cut on similar lines to that of the bride, and falling to form a slight train. Their head-dresses were of tulle and natural rosebuds and they carried armlets of roses, carnations and maidenhair fern, to tone. Two little train-bearers, Ken Wise and Margaret Hyland, nephew and niece of the bride, were dressed in white, the boy in short velvet pants and a shirt of silk and guipure lace and the girl in a short white taffeta frock, with scolloped frills caught up with knots of pink forget-me-nots. The reception was held at Herb. Moore’s, where the bride’s mother received the guests, wearing a black lace ensemble relieved with a spray of white gardenias. Her hat was of black straw, relieved with tiny white flowers and she carried a bouquet of roses, shaded in bronze and orange. The bridegroom’s mother was gowned in a smart navy ensemble suit relieved with white and her bouquet was ofj pink roses and carnations.
