ARMLESS MARVEL

DRIVES CAR WITH FEET. LONDON, November 28. “Alfred Myers, of Dam Street, Lichfield, Staffordshire, is hereby licensed to drive a motor vehicle of any class or description.” So reads the driver’s license issued to a 21-year-ola Lichfield youth who has been driving a car since he was 16 years of age. He is an accomplished driver, yet Alfred Myers has no arms, and has never had any. He was born without them. Besides being a most capable driver, Alfred holds prizes for swimming and diving, and is an expert

mechanic. He can do more things with his feet than many people in possession of the normal number of limbs. His toes and his teeth have made him independent of arms. He bathes, shaves and dresses himself, and even puts on his own tie. The only

thing that defeats him is a button; this •job has to be done by someone else. I The car he drives is just an ordinary stock model, with the usual controls. Mr Myers can pour tea with his feet, light his own cigarette, play cards, and even table tennis, holding the bat in his teeth or between his shoulder and jaw.
