NO HEIR TO DYNASTY PEKIN. October 30. Kang Teh, the 29-year-old Emperor of Munchukuo. has sent an agent to comb the poor quarters of Pekin for Beautiful girls between the ages of 15 and 20 with a view of finding him a third wife, according to articles in the Chinese newspapers here to-day. The reason given for the present search is that the last Manchu dynasty •:« without au heir. In 1922 the Emperor, then known as Mr; Pu-yi, married Princess Kuo Shia-sa. No children have been born to the couple, and the Emperor’s first wife, Hsu-fei, also failed to provide him with an heir. It is open to a Chinese to make any of his children his heir, whether they ape by the first wife or a. concubine.— 8.1j.P.
