THE SUN. The sun sets to-day at 8.12 p.m.; rises to-morrow at 4.40 a.m. WEATHER REPORT. Wind, south (slight breeze); barometer, 30.02; thermometer, 55; sky, overcast with misty rain; bar, moderate swell; river, normal; rainfall, 3 points. AT OTHER CENTRES.
WEATHER FORECAST. General inference: An anti-cyclone is centred over the northern Tasman Sea, and extends on to the Dominion, but pressure is falling in the south, under the influence of a depression advancing across the South Tasman. Forecast: Moderate variable winds, but northerlies prevailing, and freshening. Weather fair and warmer, but cloud increasing, and later scattered rains probable in the southern portion. Seas slight to moderate.
