BRITAIN DRINKS MOST TEA
SWEETEST TOOTH IN , U.S, LONDON, October 29. World consumption of sugar/ tea, cocoa and- tobacco is increasing, ’ according to “Plantation Crops,” a survey published by the Imperial Economic Committee. The people of the United- States apparently possess the sweetest tooth, for in addition to eating fn 1935 all the sugar they produced, they imported twice as much as this country did. Great Britain, however, excels in tea-
drinking. The consumption of tea in the United Kingdom last year totalled 441,500,0001 b., or 9.421 b. a head of the population, both totals establishing new records. ' ' The export of cocoa from the goki Coast Colony in 1935 reached the record total; of 261,000 tons,., which exceeded by 10,000 tons the world export in 1913. ' • • ' , , ’ The United Kingdom is the largest importer of unmanufactured tobacco in the world. The gross Import in 1935, amounted to 252,000,0001 b., the highest figure reached during 1930-35. <•;
