UNEMPLOYMENT AND HOUSING. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, November 25. Unemployment and housing were the main subjects of discussion at the continued caucus of the Government party to-day. The Prime Minister, Mr Savage, said in an interview that valuable information as to the re-r quirements of the various electorates throughout the Dominion had been given by members, and Mr J. A. Lee, Parliamentary Under-Secretary to the Minister for Finance, had submitted a detailed report on the Government’s housing scheme. “The Cabinet will give consideration to the development of new industries,” said Mr Savage, “with a view to providing work for those still unemployed. A committee of the Cabinet has been appointed: with other members of the Government party to go thoroughly into the promotion of new avenues of employment. The reports of members as to the requirements in the various districts will be submitted. to the Public Works Department for consideration of details and costs.”
