DIAMOND SMUGGLERS
MARRIED COUPLE ARRESTED [BY CABLE—PEERS ASSN. —COPYBIGHT.] NEW YORK, November 24. Mrs. Pearl Weinberg, a housewife, who was leading her son, aged five, was arrested when leaving by the liner Normandie with the largest collection of smuggled diamonds, valued at 150,000 dollars seized in the history of the port. Her husband was arrested for complicity. The police allege that a huge international gang, of which the prisoners are catspaws, is operating.
