It is announced that a combined military and police contingent from India will attend the Coronation, including representatives of all branches of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, and probably forces of the native states. Sii* John Jarvis, a member of the House of Commons, announces that two firms of tube manufacturers have agreed to co-operate in the manufacture of high-grade tubes at Jarrow, which will be a stage towards solving the unemployment problem. “UNTOUCHABLES.”

Many social reformers, including Gandhi, have been fighting for this for years. JEWISH REFUGEES. LONDON, November 12. The interim report of the Council, for German Jewry shows that £719,592 has been raised’ in Britain alone during the last nine months for the migration of German Jews. The Council aims at raising at least £1,000,000 in Europe and the British Empire, and £40,000 is expected from New Zealand, Australia and Belgium. CLOTTING BLOOD. LONDON, November 13. The “Lancet’’ discloses an important advance in the treatment of haemopilia, by means of injection derived from a mixture of egg white and potassium bromide. Tests show that the treatment succeeds in clotting blood more quickly than the normal way, without illeffects.
’QUAKE RECORDED. LONDON, November 13. An earthquake shock, estimated to have occurred about 5,500 miles distant, was recorded on the siesmograph at London between 12.51 p.m. and 2 p.m. The maximum swing of the needle was nearly two inches. SHIP IN TROUBLE. RUGBY, November 13. The steamship Belpareil, 7203 tons, dragged her anphors in the Thames off Gravesend, during the night, and was blown on to the mud. The Belpareil was refloated at high tide, but has a heavy list.
