TWO “SWEEP” WINNERS
BANKRUPTCY FOLLOWS LONDON, September 3l). Two Leeds men who won prizes in the Irish Sweep appeared for their public examinations in bangruptcy at Leeds yesterday. Gordon Clark, 23, motor engineer, of Compton-crescent, who said that in 1933 he won £2,000 in the sweep, had a deficiency of £l6B. He attributed his position to the failure of two firms in which he had invested capital. The other debtor was Arthur Stanley Brook, 24, builder, of Bramley, who had a deficiency of £205. He won £4OO in the Irish Sweep and then set up in business as a builder and contractor.
