The annual report of the United States Bureau of Agricultural Economics forecasts that the gross cash income of farmers this year will be 9,443,000,000 dollars, or an 11 per cent, increase on 1935, in spite of the drought, the influence of which on incomes is stated to be chiefly regional. U.S.A. SHIPPING STRIKE NEW YORK, November 12. Eighteen ships manned by non-strik-ing union seamen sailed to-day. The strikers claim gains in their ranks, but apparently are ready to negotiate. BOY MIGRANTS. LONDON, November 12. Mr Everett will sail for Adelaide tomorrow. He announced that he would discuss with Mr Butler the reopening of the State to young British migrants. “We have on our book over 100 fine youths, all Scouts, who are anxious to go on the land in the Commonwealth. They would be sponsored by the Australian Scouts’ Association. We believe that the experiment would 1 succeed and lead to a bigger scheme.
