RUNANGA NOTES
[OUR own correspondent.] On Friday afternoon a successful bazaar was held in the Runanga Gymnasium in aid of the Queen Carnival Funds. Members of the committee were Mesdames Isherwood, Swan, Dewar, Mann, Bansgrove, J. Smith. Chamley, Messrs D. Cannell. E. Keown, M. Mann, and A. Livesey. Airs N. Smith, Mrs McDonald, Misses Affleck and Al. Pattinson assisted at tht stalls, Alessrs J. Isherwood, Dewar, Aluir, Kania, AV. Dalzell, and AV. Alalpass erected' stalls, ran side-shows, and “cleaned up.” The monthly meeting of the Runanga W. 1. was held at St. Thomas’s Hall, Mrs. Swan presiding. Mrs. Braithwaite gav.e an interesting talk on her visit to Dunedin conference. An appeal for gifts for the lepers ■was read and it was decided to forward a parcel of goods. Competition results were: Crayon work. Airs. Hambley 1, Mrs. K. Griffiths 2, Mrs. W. Duggan 3. Bran biscuits, Airs. K. Griffiths 1, Airs W. Duggan 2, Mrs. Hambley 3. Next month’s competition will be for a quilted cushion and girdle scones. The hostesses were Alesdames S. Braithwaite, Wafer, Hall and Jenkerson.
